Lillie Mae Hogue Waits, 96, of Danville, passed away Friday, January 20, 2012, at Danville Center for Health and Rehabilitation.

She was born October 11, 1915, in Casey County, Kentucky, to the late Walter B. and Minnie Lee Coyle Daugherty, and was the wife of the late Chuck Ira Waits. Mrs. Waits was a member of Lexington Avenue Baptist Churcha and was a retired waitress, having worked at Burke’s Cafeteria and Boyle Pharmacy. She is survived by a son, Truman (Lesa) Hogue of Louisville, 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jewell Sherrow of Junction City. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Woodie Hogue, and a daughter, America Westmoreland. The family has chosen cremation with burial of cremains in Bellevue Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home.
