    Sara SchoentagSara Schoentag, 70, of Enfield passed away peacefully, Tuesday, February 2, 2010 in hospice at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford CT. Born in Green Forest, Arkansas on November 7, 1939, she was the daughter of the late John Paul Donaldson and Gwendolyn (Stroud) Donaldson. Sara is survived by her beloved husband, Louis Schoentag of Enfield; her two daughters, Kendra Kannally of Norfolk Massachusetts and her husband Jay Kannally and their two children, Paige and James; Jill Springer of Lebanon CT and her husband David Springer and their daughter Rachael. Sara was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her generous, loving, and caring spirit. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and they will always hold a special place in their hearts for Nana as she touched them so dearly. She enjoyed volunteering at the Enfield Loaves and Fishes and was committed to helping the needy by donating food, clothing, blankets and other much needed household items. Sara will also be missed by her sisters, Judith Fraley and her husband Lewis Fraley of Caldwell, Texas and their two children, Lewis and Amber; Gail Donaldson and her husband Karl Unruh of Newark, DE and her aunt Peggy Jane Windham of Marietta, GA. A celebration of her life will be at Leete Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 3 p.m. Calling hours will be prior to the service from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.     Was a country Doctor in Green Forest, Arkansas. Had a son who worked for many years for Safeway. His grandson was a brain surgeon who lived in Oklahoma City - We visited grandson circa 1953, in Oklahoma. Later moved to Los Angeles area - gave me the first baseman's mitt.

    According to story told by Laura Donaldson Brasfield to Lois Marquiss Brasfield, one of the other 2 brothers was a baker and paid to put Charles Donaldson through medical school with the understanding that once he graduated that Charles would pay the baker's tuition to medical school in return, but never did. Result was animosity and resentment.

    Glenwood Cemetery is located on the Douglas Road just off Highway 311 north of Green Forest Arkansas.

    According to daughter Sibyl, James Donaldson took family to Oregon via Nebraska in 1890's. Jame's daughter Cora and her husband had a farm in Nebraska. Either Cora or Laura taught school there (Nebraska or Oregon?).

    Sibyl said that "All of my Grandfather's family are buried near Ruby's grave".
