" George Brasfield wills to wife Silvany all estate except that which I shall bequeath herein, during her lifetime or widowhood, my children raised and schooled from profits of estate, 2 Negroes, and if she may and have issue to keep Negroes, but if not to my children; and if she marry, I lend her two other Negroes also, choice of stock during her lifetime, then to return to my children; to daughter Mary Brasfield, a Negro slave, horse, saddle and bridle, featherbed and furniture, sow and pigs, chest and table; to daughter Elizabeth Brasfield, a Negro slave, bed & furniture; to daughter Anna and Nancy Brasfield, a Negro and featherbed and furniture, each; to son Caleb, 636 acres and take possession when 21 years old, not interrupting my wife, his mother, during her lifetime thereon, a Negro slave, featherbed and furniture, a horse, bridle and saddle; to daughter Druciller, a Negro, featherbed and furniture; to wife Silvany, in case she marry, 150 acres during her life, to include the dwelling house and spring but not the orchards; all stock of young Negroes divided to my above mentioned children and each receive their share when 21 years old or married; my wife to have 2 horses if she marry again, also 2 featherbeds and furniture, 2 desks and tables and furniture for life." Three brothers came to America: George, Joseph, and John in the late 1600's and early 1700's.
