157 The only information that I had on what I thought was Wallace Browder (which
you indicate was/is actually David Wallace Browder) comes from the
McAllister Brasfield Genealogy book. The book also lists the only child
(daughter) as Ermi Jean Browder (which you indicate was/is actually Marion
Imogene Browder) who married Joe Williams in Memphis Tennessee in 1948. All
of Jewell's siblings and her earlier generations are shown on the web site
at www.brasfield.net

The only other Browder mentioned in the book is a Billie Browder who married
a Varion Brasfield on 9/18/1943 in Mississippi.

Any verification of the true names of David & Marion Imogene would be
appreciated, along with birthdates of David Wallace Browder and Joe
Williams. I would love to have any stories about Jewell's father, Eber
Meeks Brasfield. He was born in Adamsville, Tennessee and lived in Newbern,
Tennessee in 1949.

Thanks for writing.

163 Miss Virginia Ingram becomes bride of Dorace Brasfield-Trenton, Sept. 18--The wedding of Miss Virginia Ingram, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Ingram and Dorace Brasfield, son of Eugene Brasfield and the late Mrs. Brasfield of Crockett Mills was of outstanding interest this week. The wedding, which took place in the Methodist Church in Brazil, drew many relatives and friends from Trenton. Dr. Paul A. Wieland of the First Baptist Church of Trenton read the double ring ceremony. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an original two-piece suit of new winter blue with brown accessories. She carried a single white orchid on her white prayer book. Her only attendant was her sister, Miss Esther Ingram of the staff of the Anderson County Health Department at Clinton, Tenn. Happle Strange of Alamo was Mr. Brasfield's best man. Robert Ingram and Harry Dinwiddie of Brazil were groomsmen. Both the bride and groom are students at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and will return there for their senior year after a brief wedding trip. Miss Ingram is a niece of Dr. M. D. Ingram of the Gibson County Health Department and has spent much time here with him and Mrs. Ingram. --Jackson Sun

175 The story my husband's grandmother tells about Eber is that he helped his
stepmother, Lula Jane kidnap his half siblings back from the orphanage
where they were taken in Tennessee and then fled to Arkansas, which is
why a lot of the records are hard to find, they didn't want to be found and
sent to prison, or have the children taken away again. This was supposedly
after Joseph had passed away and Lula was raising her five plus some of
the younger step children.

Thank you for the clarification. I do not know if I am related to Eddie Willis Brasfield or not since we don't know who his father was. If I find anything else about who his parents or brothers and sisters were that may lead to understanding his history. If you find out anything more, please let me know.

Please contact the Olympia Genealogical Society at PO Box 1313, Olympia, WA

available.

This cemetery is located south of Olympia, behind the Bush
Prairie Cemetery. Go south on Capitol Boulevard through Tumwater
and turn on Trosper Road. Cross over the freeway on Trosper Road
(54th Ave SW) and continue a short distance to Littlerock Road
where you turn left. Travel along Littlerock Road and the
cemetery will be on your right. Although the land was not
acquired by the Catholic Church until 1873, it was evidently used
earlier since some of the stones predate that time. The property
(slightly over two acres) was part of the Donation Land Claim of
Jessie Ferguson. Around 1900 the conditions deteriorated, and a
number of the individuals were moved. Many of the pioneers of
the area were buried there.

188 Dear Mr. Brasfield,
My name is Kimberly Gray Clark. I am Elisha's great great granddaughter. Elisha and Birdie had 1 daughter, Mary Ruth Brasfield. She married Eugene Gray. Elisha and Birdie are buried at the same cemetary my grandfather is. It isn't Pearce Chapel. It is on Hwy. 23 going toward Tremont from Smithville, in a community they lived in known as Turon. I can't remember the name of the cemetary right off hand but if you go just past Bull Mountain Rd on Hwy.23, you will see a small church on your left and just around the curve the cemetary is on the right. They are on the front right beside the drive. My father can probably tell you more than I can. His name is Gary. I hope this information helps you, if you need any information let us know and I can get it from my grandmother, Elisha's daughter.

Sincerely,

I am trying to find Elizabeth Brasfield's ancestors. She married David Adams in 1799 in Hancock Co. GA, according to the familysearch.org's IGI record #2034692. My maternal ggg grandparents were David F. Adams and Elizabeth last name unknown. They married ca. 1800. She was born in SC and he in KY, according to the Covington Co. AL 1850 Census. Does anyone have a list of the Heads of Households for the 1800 Hancock Co. GA Census?
I have David F. Adams and Elizabeth's complete descending family tree, but nothing beyond them.

Thanks,

Barker HUNSLEY was my great grandfather. He was born in England 9-23-1947 and died 10-12-1919. His first marriage was to Adelia Ann Franklin and they had 9 children; one my grandfather, Harry. After Adelia died, Barker married Elizabeth Bessie Brassfield McDonald, a widow. She had 5 children from her first marriage.

Elizabeth Bessie was born 2-1-2-1847 in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. She died at Larned, kansas on 12-24-1931. She married Barker about 1891 and they had one child:

Sadie married John B. Curray on 6-2-1914 he was b: 4-27-1893 d: 11-25-1974

hope this helps.

200 Hi Michael,

While I have the sampler off the wall, I think I will transcribe the back for you. I am no photographer, but I took some pictures of the sampler. I hope they come out. If they are not legible, I will at least transcribe it, but most of it is practicing making the letters. One the back, Marguerite Wallace Kennedy has written: Sampler - done by Elzira M. Brasfield when she
was 11 years olf. Born in Madison County,
Kentucky, March 28, 1815
Given to daughter - Mary Elizabeth Hocker - Williams
Then to her daughter - Louise Marion Williams - Wallace
Then to her daughter - Marguerite Wallace - Kennedy
Then to her cousin - Nancy Lowrie - Wright
in 1971 (great grandaughter of Mary Elizabeth Hocker - Williams)

I tried to get some pictures of the back of the sampler also, I don't know
how they will turn out. There is some glass on the front of the sampler,
every place I put it, I could see myself reflected in the glass. I hope I will have some pictures that don't show my reflection too.

I will mail those pictures as soon as I get them developed.

Nancy
