- Lane Garrett (Jackman) Brassfield, 8-year-old son of Rebekkah and Jason Brassfield, died Sept. 9 at Children's Hospital in Oklahoma City after his lifelong battle with muscular dystrophy. Services were Tuesday at St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City and interment followed in Mustang Cemetery under the direction of McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service.
Lane was born Oct. 16, 2001, in Oklahoma City, and had lived in Union City and Yukon before moving to south Oklahoma City. He was a second-grader at Fisher Elementary. Lane loved life, and his spirit will live on through organ donation and his contribution to research on myotubular myopathy.
Survivors include his parents; a brother, Chason; two sisters, Jaden and Keegan; grandparents, Ronald and Dianne Jackman of El Reno, and Cheryl and John Brassfield of Oklahoma City; and great-grandparents, Blake and Ethel Coe of Perry and Mildred Woodall of Mustang.
