    • Charles Brasfield Grant, Sr., 67-year-old prosperous and well-known farmer and businessman of Jefferson, died at his residence Sunday, July 10, 1966, after a brief illness. Graveside services were conducted at the cemetery in Jefferson by the Rev. Eugene Caddell at 5 p.m. Monday, July 11, for the man who had done much for his community. One of his more widely known projects was a dedicated effort to help maintain the progress of the Crippled Children's Center in Mongomery. Cook and Spigener Mortuary was in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Emma Gholson Grant of Jefferson; one son, Charles B. Grant, Jr., of Jefferson; two daughters, Mrs. John Vickers of Montgomery and Mrs. W.B. Gardner of Jefferson; two brothers, W.K. and C.K Grant, both of Atlanta; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Pall bearers were Billy Cooper, Stanhope Brasfield, Jr., Jim Norris, Tom Boggs, Sr., Clifford Compton, Jr., and Robert Hodges. Source: Linden Democrat Reporter dated July 13, 1966
