- Marietta "Tate" Brasfield, 86, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. She was a retired employee of Heckethorn Manufacturing and a member of Cornerstone Church of God. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Dickerson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Dickerson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg. The family will receive visitors at 5:30-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include a daughter, Opal Dianne Richards of Dyersburg; a son, Kenneth Brasfield of Jackson; a sister, Burdie Alie Frutchie of Michigan; three half sisters, Lillian Parrish of Dyersburg, Dovie Petty of Murfreesboro and Pauline Harris; a half brother, Paul "Bud" McPherson of Dyersburg; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dagwood Brasfield; a daughter, Donna Monnell Buchanan; and a son, Glynn Brasfield.
Pallbearers will be Reed Brasfield, Jeff Brasfield, Russell Brasfield, Joe Brasfield, Mike Buchanan, Jimmy Roberson, Glyndale Brasfield and Dwayne Rice.
The family requests that any memorials be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
