- I am Sarah Ellen Hickson Hollett's daughter's daughter's daughter. Sarah was born January 21, 1867 in Blanco Co, Texas, one of William Hickson and Mary Wiley's 10 daughters (no sons). I do not know the names of any of the daughters, except, now, Delia. I do have some old letters, one mentions Ardelia, and the other is signed by J.T. Cude. That could be the sister or brother-in-law. Sarah married Isaac Nathaniel Hollett on November 23, 1882 in Kerrville, Texas at her father's home. She wasn't yet 16! Isaac had left his home in Gloversville, NY at the age of 16 but was 22 when they married. Sarah gave birth to 12 children, 9 of whom survived infancy. Clara Frances, (died in infancy) and William Fletcher Hollett (1886-1963) were born in Texas. "Fletcher" married at age 69 and had no children of his own. The family then left Texas in a covered wagon in 1887 and moved to Colorado. They settled in Norwood, Colorado in 1889. Earl was born during this transition in 1888 and all the rest of the children were born in Norwood. Earl died in a sawmill accident in 1928, but he married Nellie Frazer and had 3 children) Ada (1892-1975) was my grandmother. She married Russell Brasfield and had Edwin, Robert and Lois (1918-), my mother. All three had families. Lois married Milton P. Collins and had my brother Shaun and myself, Kathleen. I am married to Roderick Booth, but have no children. Robert and Lois are living. Maude Lois Hollett (1893-1974) never married. Oscar Everett Hollett (1895-1968) married Bessie who had 3 children and they had three more. Nellie Irene died in infancy in 1897. Emma Jennie (1898-198?) married M.O. Nicolay at the age of 63. George Franklin (1901-1957) married Margaret and had a daughter, Lyn. Purdy Nathaniel was stillborn in 1905. Sarah Vivian was born in 1907 and was still alive but not well last we knew. She married and was widowed three times. She had 3 sons with her first husband, Don Borcherdt. One son has died and the other two had children. J Hickson Hollett (1909-197?) never married. My grandmother and her three sisters all lived near me when I was growing up. I knew my Aunts Maude, Emma and Vivian and my Uncle J well. My Aunt Emma gave me this information. I have the exact dates of birth and death and the names of the descendants through about 1980 and my first cousins to present If anyone has names of the 10 daughters, I would enjoy having that information. I was told that Mary Wiley Hickson married a Mr. Flower some time after her husband, William J. Hickson passed away. (Sept 26, 1886 in Kerrville, TX). I never knew his first name or was happened to Mary since then, but would be interested if anyone knows. The letters I have are dated around 1900 and the daughters were disposing of the family property, so maybe Mary died around then? I do have Mary as being the daughter of Thomas Wiley (1802-3-October 12, 1882) and Elizabeth (1807-8, possibly Elizabeth Tyler). Kat Collins Booth
