Funeral services were held Jan. 6 at the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ for Jacob Ray Clemons, who died on Jan. 4 at age 73 at his home. Services were conducted by Elkin Haire and Rev. Linton, and interment was in Wesley Chapel.
Mr. Clemons was a retired employee of the Chickasaw Handle Co. He was a native of Webster County and was the son of John Clemons and Margaret Blansett. He was affiliated with the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ida B Clemons of Houston; two daughters, Mrs. Rex Brassfield and Mrs. Claude Brassfield, both of Houston; two sons, Rudolph of Amory and Billy Ray of Senatobia; six stepchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Nell Burrage, Mrs. Earnest Swindle, and Mrs. Ethel McGee, all of Houston and Mrs. Ralph Simmons of West Point; 42 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren. Houston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
