- POCAHONTAS -- Willis Thomas "Rod" Brasfield, 77, of Pocahontas died Wednesday, Oct. 20, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Born at Bono, he was salesman at KAS potato chips and member of Shannon Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Virginia Curtwright Brasfield of Pocahontas; two sons, Bob Brasfield and Gene Brasfield, both of Jonesboro; two daughters, Bonnie Kincaid of Little Rock and Tammy Brasfield of Pocahontas; two brothers, Jimmy Brasfield and Omer Brasfield, both of Michigan; two sisters, Beatrice Orr of Morehouse, Mo., and Milda Rae of Arkansas; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Thomas and Minnie Purser Brasfield, and two sisters.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at McNabb Funeral Home, with Melvin Shelton officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Rodney Brasfield, Robert Brasfield, Adam Brasfield, Boyd King, Steve Schultz and Mike Dunn.
Honorary pallbearers will include Herb Turner, Melvin Shelton, Joe VanHorn, Lloyd Carlew, Hank McNabb, Bill Holobaugh, Phil Smith, Chris Jenkins and Jerry Broyles.
Military honors will be delivered by Promberger-Traw Post No. 4556.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
