Rex Alton Brasfield, 58, of Dora, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Baptist Medical Center Princeton. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 10, 2012 at Bell Sumiton Chapel with burial in Rice’s Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Eugene Oden will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Brasfield was an avid Alabama fan. He loved spending time with family and friends as well as his cat “Bear.” Preceding him in death were his father, Delbert Brasfield; grandparents, Flora and Alcy Brasfield, William Metzler and Rainy Smith; and father-in-law, Jimmy Harris.

Survivors include his wife, Melissa Brasfield of Dora; mother, Della Coleman of Quinton; sister, Betty Whitten and her husband, Terry of Quinton; nephew, Chris Whitten, his wife, Marcy, and their sons, Alex and Josh of Georgia; mother-in-law, Clara Harris of Sipsey; special friends, Darrell and Shelia Seals of Sayre, John and Sharon Yarbro of Dora, Neal Birchem of Dora, and Tina Miller, Haleigh Miller, and Dewayne Miller, all of Sipsey; and a host of other family and friends.

10358 Richard A. Lonergan, 77, of Norton passed away in the comfort of his home on Sunday December 5, 2010. He was the beloved husband of Lucille D. (Landolfi) Lonergan to whom he was wed on May 29, 1971. Born in Boston, MA on January 28, 1933 he was a son of the late Edward M., Sr. and Ruth B. (Sanborn) Lonergan. Richard grew up in Dedham and was educated in Dedham public schools. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War and on December 11, 1956 was honorably discharged with the rank of Boiler Man Third Class. Mr. Lonergan was a retired Truck Driver. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 25 and had been employed for 37 years at Stop & Shop prior to retiring in 1999, where he was the recipient of several good driving awards. He formerly had worked as an automotive mechanic for General Motors. A communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton, Richard had made his home in Norton for the past 38 years and had previously resided in Foxboro and Walpole. He was a member of the Foxboro VFW and was also a former member of the American Legion in Hanson. Mr. Lonergan enjoyed building projects around his home and tending to the maintenance of his yard. He loved spending time in the presence of his adoring family, especially with his grandchildren and also liked dancing and playing the harmonica.

In addition to his beloved wife of 39 years, he is survived by his devoted children Michael W. Reardon of Norton, Scott E. Reardon and his wife Linda of Sandwich, Kimberly L. Gattoni and her husband Michael of Attleboro and the late Diana B. Reardon. He was the dear brother of Edward M. Lonergan, Jr. of Foxboro, Maybelle Auclair of Sandwich, Phyllis Stuke of Jacksonville, Florida, Patricia DesMarais of Chepachet, Rhode Island and the late Charles Lonergan and Walter Lonergan. He was the cherished grandfather of Haley and Michael Reardon, Jarod and Derek Masse, Michael Brasfield and Zackery, Ethan, Emma and Ava Gattoni and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

His funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday December 9th at 9:00 A.M. from the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church 1 Power St. Norton. Burial with military honors will follow in the Timothy Plain Cemetery, Norton. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday December 8th from 4-7 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home. 10359 Richard was born in Olympia, Washington April 22, 1923 to Lucille Maybelle Brassfield and Walter Lyall Willett. Lucy remarried Theodore Robert Reddington in 1927, and Richard took that name. The family operated the Starr Variety Store in Olympia for many years. Richard died early Tueasday, September 27, 2005 at Saint Clare Hospital in Lakewood, Washington. He is survived by one son, Garvin Michael, one sister, Marilou, Hawaii, two brothers, Theodore Robert, Hawaii and Dennis Michael, Illinois. Richard spent much of his early life in California working in sales in the entertainment and music industry. He loved Jazz and horses and had widely varied interests. His later years were spent in Lakewood, Washington. He will forever fondly remember those close to him, Charles, Marty, Richard and Maxine. He always intended a return to Olympia, his favorite place. 10369 Rites Are Held For Retired Humboldt Business Man.

HUMBOLDT, Tenn., Dec 25 - Services were held Thursday for W. Jordan Hayes, retired business man who died at his home Tuesday night after a long illness. The Rev. D.D. Woody officiated. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. He was 79.

Mr. Hayes was born and reared in Wilson County, near Lebanon, Tenn., the son of the late John C. and Sarah Hayes. He moved to West Tennessee in early life and had made his home in Humboldt 45 years, retiring 10 years ago from Hayes & Brooks, general contractors, because of ill health. He was a member of the Mitchell Street Church of Christ.

He leaves three sons, Hollis Hayes of los Angeles, Calif., J.E. Hayes and Dallas Hayes, both of Humboldt; five daughters, Miss Alice Hayes of New York City, Mrs. E.Y. Stobaugh and Mrs. Willis Robison, both of Humboldt, Mrs. Marcus Hale and Mrs. J.C. Wortham, both of Milan, and a twin brother George R. Hayes of Dyer and Humboldt.
