| 10501 | Sara SchoentagSara Schoentag, 70, of Enfield passed away peacefully, Tuesday, February 2, 2010 in hospice at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford CT. Born in Green Forest, Arkansas on November 7, 1939, she was the daughter of the late John Paul Donaldson and Gwendolyn (Stroud) Donaldson. Sara is survived by her beloved husband, Louis Schoentag of Enfield; her two daughters, Kendra Kannally of Norfolk Massachusetts and her husband Jay Kannally and their two children, Paige and James; Jill Springer of Lebanon CT and her husband David Springer and their daughter Rachael. Sara was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her generous, loving, and caring spirit. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and they will always hold a special place in their hearts for Nana as she touched them so dearly. She enjoyed volunteering at the Enfield Loaves and Fishes and was committed to helping the needy by donating food, clothing, blankets and other much needed household items. Sara will also be missed by her sisters, Judith Fraley and her husband Lewis Fraley of Caldwell, Texas and their two children, Lewis and Amber; Gail Donaldson and her husband Karl Unruh of Newark, DE and her aunt Peggy Jane Windham of Marietta, GA. A celebration of her life will be at Leete Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 3 p.m. Calling hours will be prior to the service from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. | 10502 | Sarajane Brassfield, 85, died peacefully on Oct. 20, 2009, at her home in Sonoma with her son, John T. Bordynski, and her caregiver, Selina Chaaban, at her side. She was born on Nov. 24, 1923, to Jake and Sidney Caraway in Vancouver, Wash. Sarajane was a World War II veteran and served at Travis Air Force Base as an airplane instrument specialist until her marriage to Thaddeus Bordynski in 1945. She was a devoted member of St. Francis Solano Parish. Sarajane was an active member of the Sonoma Valley Garden Club since 1986 and served twice as president. She worked as medical records librarian for Federal Service at Fort Ord, for more than 10 years. Sarajane worked as a senior companion for Sonoma Developmental Center for five years, she was also an advocate for her client of five beloved years. She would read to the clients for three hours a day. Her joy was to sing at Richardson's (SDC) house on Tuesdays, to a full audience. She was constantly recruiting for the advocacy program. After her family and garden, one of her great loves and pastimes was cooking and baking and cake decorating. From the mid 1980s to the time of her passing Sarajane was a part-time caregiver, reader and cook to M.F.K. Fisher. She is survived by her sons, John T. Bordynski, of Manhattan Beach, Joseph T. Bordynski, Richard O. Bordynski, both of Gold Beach, Ore., and her daughter Marie T. Bordynski, of Knoxville, Tenn.; her grandchildren, Bryce Dick and Aaron Webb, and preceded by Austin Dick, all of Knoxville, Tenn.; and her great-grandchildren, Acelyn Marie Dick and Gabriel Mikel-Paul Dick, also of Knoxville, Tenn. Sarajane will be laid to rest in the monastic cemetery of Saint Andrew's Abbey in Valyermo, CA. Prior Damien Toilolo O.S.B. will officiate at the funeral Mass.
