He was a devoted family man and made a contribution to every person he touched. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Robert E. and Kay Rippy of Kansas City, MO; one brother and sister-in-law, Clinton A. and Lee Swofford of Richmond; one granddaughter and her husband, Robynn and Sean Haydock; and two greatgrandchildren, Mason and Landry Haydock. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Jewell Swofford, Don Swofford, Chet Swofford and Allen Swofford who died in infancy; and two sisters, Marjorie Hennig and Vera Perks. She also loved to fish, garden and can foods. She loved her family and taught many of her great nieces and nephews to play various games. She was born May 26, 1900 in Flourence, Alabama. She died February 3, 1990 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was buried on the 5th at Bassett Cemetary in Memphis, Tn. My Great grand-dad Jason died in Memphis, Tn on July 9, 1967. Minnie Jane Purser was the daughter of John W Purser and Lucellia Johnson. I do know she(Lucellia) was born in Dec. of 1885 and married to John Purser in the year 1900. She was only 14 and he was 16. I have a copy of the Marion county, Alabama census of 1900 showing this information. This is all I have except that somewhere they divorced or he died and she married James Albert Brasfield son of John Bryant Brasfield and Nancy Anne Brassfield. This information was giving to me by a cousin. No documented proof is found at this time. Both Lucellia and John W were born in Alabama. I know of no siblings of her or if Lucellia had any more children at all. This Purser line was supposed to be related to the famous sheriff Buford Purser(Pussor). Not sure on the spelling yet. Just getting into the family tree on that side but having a lot of trouble. I'm going to include a picture of my Great Grandparents Jason Thomas and Minnie Jane Purser which will be the Photograph of the couple and a Picture of Lucellia which is the single women. I am also going to enclose a picture of Lucellia's Father. The only info I have on him is his last name Johnson. He is the picture with two women and the first women in the white dress is Beatrice Brasfield the older sister of my Grandpa Willis Thomas Brasfield. The other lady is unknown at the present time. This is all I know of this section but thought it would be a great help and maybe help me in the long run with the Purser side of the family tree. If you are looking for James Albert Brasfield son of John Bryant and Nancy Annie Brasfield. Look under Bansfield as a surname, it is supposed to be Brasfield. He is married to Lou and has her children from her first marriage listed. They had no children. They also divorced. I have copies of what was left of their divorce (only thing left after the fire of the courthouse is the Chanclor fee book) and their marriage license to those interested. Also to those interested one of Lou's children not listed in this census married one of John Bryant's sons Jason Thomas. Her name was Minnie. I have been told her name was Adeline, she married Andrew Patrick Jones in Williamsburg, Ky. they had six children and migrated to Crawford County, Ar. Until last night the only information I was able to come up with was on a Angeline Brassfield who m. a Andrew Patrick Jones in Whitley, Ky. on 1/24/1867. I see in your data base you have a listing for an Angeline and a listing for Adeline. Do you have any other information on Adeline. I noticed there is a strong indication these two ladies may be one in the same. Angeline married 1867, Adeline married abt 1868. Angeline born abt 1849, Adeline born abt 1848. Adeline was in Arkansas abt 1868. Angeline married a Jones, Adeline married a James. I may be off base but I think Adeline and Angeline are the same person. Lula and Fred were my mothers great grandparents. We might have some information to help you also. Lula and Fred had four children. They had Carrie Helen Bryson, Jessie Bryson, Tommy Bryson, and Doris Bryson. Im not sure of dates yet. Carrie was my mothers grandmother. She married Joseph Benson. They had four kids also. William Robert Benson(which was my mother father), Jimmy Ray Benson, Vera Ruth Benson, and Barbara Benson. I can carry this further for you. There is many generations after this. He held the position of Chief of Police in Independence, MO bet. 1907 to 1930 I believe the dates are close, but not sure. He married Anna B. Hagathorn b. 1886 d. 1919 and they had one child Richard A. Harris 12/16/1911. He died 2/20/1952 in a car accident. Nealy A. Harris father was Reuben C. Harris b. 1825 d.1893 md. Mary Elizabeth Dillingham b. 1845. They had a daughter also, Hester A. Harris b.9/1872 married Samuel S. Holloway. | 7045 | HENRY VINCIL BRASSFIELD Henry Vincil Brassfield was born on January 25, 1917, in Macon, MO, and passed away on Monday, February 9, 2004. He had a dealership for Allis-Chalmers in Trenton, MO. Henry won highest sales award while being the youngest dealer in the territory. He married Garnet Pederson on May 30, 1939. They moved to California and Henry went to work for the Bank of America until he was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1943. He served overseas in the European theatre and Japan, returning in 1946 to the Bank of America until his retirement in 1985. Henry, also known as Hank, was active in church, hunting, fishing, golf, Bridge, dance clubs, and many service organizations. He is survived by his wife, Garnet; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Barry Robertson; daughter, Linda Lev; grandchildren, Jason and Cecillia Fountain, Jodi and Rob Higgs, and Layne and Melissa Lev, Nathan Lev and his fiance Alessia Bernardini; and great-grandchildren, Les Fountain, Bailey and Brady Higgs; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Ella and Eldon Ray, and Louise Boltz; six nieces and nephews and their families; A Private Burial Service for family and close friends will be held at Belmont Memorial Park on Thursday, February 12, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. A Memorial Service will be held at University Presbyterian Church, 1776 E. On the 8th of May, 1838, he was married to Maria Zehr, with whom he lived forty-eight years to the time of his death. He enjoyed good health until the last year of his life.
