| 8120 | Marceline Crystella Lott, 67, of Perkins died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001, at Stiliwater Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Graveside services will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the Perkins Cemetery. The service will be officiated by the Reverend Susan Ross. Interment is directed by Strode Funeral Home. She was born in Harlingen, Texas on Oct. 15, 1933. "Marcy" was the daughter of H.C. "Chris" and Rosella Carey. She attended McAllen High School in McAllen, Texas and Pan American College in Edinburg, Texas. She married Bill Loft of Hargill, Texas on April 2, 1955 in a ceremony held in Mission, Texas. In 1973, they moved from the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas to Perkins, where Bill served as Chief of Police for the City of Perkins for 22 years. She was a mother of three, grandmother of six, wife, homemaker, and a friend to all she met. She was active in the PTA and involved in her children's school events as well as serving as a Den Mother for her two son's Cub Scout Packs. She also served as Vice- President of her Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in McAllen, Texas prior to moving to Oklahoma. She is predeceased by her parents, who resided in their later years in Perkins. She is survived by her husband Bill Lott of the home; two sons, David C. Lott, of Medicine Park and Danny Lott and wife, Karen of Stillwater; and one daughter, Debbie Shimanek, of Perkins. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Chelsea Lott , Austin Lott, Bo Thompson and Tyler Thompson of Stillwater; and Cameron Shimanek and Jordan Shimanek, of Perkins. | CAREY, Marceline Crystella (I39366)

| 8121 | MARCH 21, 1919 A Very Sad Death Mrs. Lessie Brasfield Haynes, wife of Shearon L. Haynes, died of uremic poisoning Sunday, March 16, at 4 p. m. She was stricken last Wednesday and medical aid could not check the poisonous disease. She suffered intensely but bore it with patience. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John A. Brasfield, of Martin, were at her bedside from Thursday until the end came. Mrs. Haynes became a mother about ten days before the uremic attack, but had gotten along finely. The deceased and Shearon Haynes were married July 21, 1914. Two children were born. She was 21 years of age. She was a member of the Methodist church, but at the age of 15 years was baptized into the Christian church. She was so recently one of Selmer's most vivacious and attractive girls that we hardly realize her as a mother. She was beloved by all, and a most devoted mother and wife. Unusual ties seemed always to bind her and her father in life which seemed cruel to break. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock, a very large crowd of relatives and friends attending the services which were conducted by the pastor, Rev. R. W. Newsom, assisted by Rev. Butler and Wallace. The floral offerings bespoke the kindness and love of her friends. The stricken husband has the most sincere sympathy of all in leaving him alone with two babies to tenderly care for. He is blessed however with his own parents and the parents of his sainted wife, who as far as love and attentive care can allay his grief, will be lavished upon him. | 8122 | March 24, 1986 - November 13, 2002, John S. Voluntine passed away Wednesday after a short unexpected illness. Born and raised in Walnut Creek John had attended De La Salle High School where he had entered his junior year. He was a member of the De La Salle Tennis team, loved baseball and enjoyed fishing. He had begun to form a love of food and had recently worked at Togo's. He will be missed by many friends at De La Salle and Northgate High Schools. He is survived by his beloved parents Jack and Nanette Voluntine, dear sister, Kati, paternal Grandfather Bob Walker of Alameda, maternal Grandmother Nancy Glubb of New Zealand and many loved family and friends. John was a wonderful spirit. He was non-judgemental of those he met in his life, was open to all and lead others by his presence. She was born May 22, 1938, in Monroe County to the late Ivy Arvis and Elaine Cummings Cox. She lived most of her life in Amory. She was a graduate of the Amory High School Class of 1956. She worked in health care in the medical transcription field and was employed by Gilmore Memorial Hospital for 12 years and by Monroe County Hospital in Aberdeen for eight years before retirement. She married Casper L. Brasfield on July 2, 1963; he preceded her in death in 1992. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Dudley Nash and Sis. Lucy Nash officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery. Survivors include two sons, Dennis Brasfield (Wanda) of Biloxi and Mike Brasfield (fiancŽe, Caroline) of Amory; two daughters, Pat Brasfield Simmons (Woody) of West Point and Kim Brasfield (fiancŽ. Sam) of Birmingham, Ala.; six grandchildren, Ashley Schachterle (Jeff), Corie Jones (Jason), Brooke McKinney, Will Owings, Emily Junkins and Ryan Simmons; one great-grandchild, Jayden McKinney. Mrs. Dunaway graduated from UCA with a bachelor of arts degree. She taught and retired as an 8th grade English teacher from the Conway school district in 1981. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Oscar "Bill" Dunaway Sr. Survivors are a son, Bill Dunaway Jr. and wife Mary Kay of Conway; and two daughters, Margo Taylor and husband Bob of Norfolk and Suzanne Harris and husband Rick of Morrilton, Ark. She is survived by her mother Patricia Brassfield of Ukiah, four children Melissa S. Brassfield, son-in-law Josh Randall of Hopland, Angela Haley of Napa, Patricia and son-in-law Michael Sievers of Fort Riley Kansas and Robert Pugh of Willits. Siblings Cordy, Norma and Doyal Brassfield all of Ukiah. Seven grandchildren Aliesha Pugh, Sierra Crocker, Dylan Pugh, Jonathan Caudle, Mark Crocker, Caleb Caudle and Ashlind Sievers. Sue preceded in death by her father Cordy Brassfield and numerous aunts and uncles. At Sues request no service will be held instead a celebration of her life for family and friends. This will be held at Joe Riley picnic area at Lake Mendocino on Sunday August 30 at 2PM. She worked with Spegiel, Independent Life Insurance, and finally retired from the UA Math Department after 15 years of service. She was a loving, caring woman that loved God, family, life, and helping UA students. Pallbearers will be Edward L. Marjorie was born February 12, 1918, the beloved daughter of William H. and Estella V. Brower of South English, IA. She was married to David L. Link on June 3, 1938 and separated only during the war years until his death on March 6, 2001. She was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection though her declining days prevented her from attending as she desired. Above all, Marjorie's faith was most important to her and her family was her most valuable prize in this world. Marjorie is survived by a son, David W. Link and his wife, Lynn of Blue Springs; a daughter, Virginia Cook and her husband, Royce of Overland Park; and a son , Stephen and his wife, Dianna of Overland Park. Grandchildren include Lori Hankins, Amy Walter, Adam Link, Lisa Hertel, Scott Cook, David Link and Christy Seele.
