| 8572 | Mary Ida Brassfield's maiden name was James. Her father was Mattison James. However, grandmother Ida told us that her family went by the name of James, but her father had changed their name for some reason. She thought their name was actually Brown. She indicated he had been some sort of rebel during the civil war. I have never been able to find anything other than one name on the list of Cantrell's raiders by the name of Brown. She said she and grandpa John were married in Missouri. Our John braxton was born in 1860 and grandmother Ida was born in 1867. | JAMES, Mary Ida (I23372)
