  Some time ago, I was lucky enough to make contact with what must be about 25th and 26th cousins or some such. Her name is Cynthia Irwin Mewes. Last I heard from her, she was about to move from Atlanta to New Jersey. I don't know if I can still get in touch with her. I had some e-mail discussion with her mother, too. The mother and father live in Northern California, not too terribly far from where I live. They are descendents of the older brother of the famous C. B. (Charlie) Irwin of Cheyenne, Wyoming. CB's life was the subject of a wonderful novel, _Prairie_ by Anna Lee Waldo (who also wrote _Sacajawea_). CB's mother was a Brassfield, from Missouri. Granville Pool [gpool@pacific.net] 4/21/2002
